Prominent Nigerian preacher, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, has publicly denied allegations that he wielded a firearm in a viral video making rounds across social media. The senior pastor of House on the Rock Church described the clip as “clickbait” and part of an “organized strategy to make money.”
The video, which gained attention on platforms like X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and Instagram, shows Adefarasin inside a vehicle as a content creator approached to film luxury cars. A quick movement inside the vehicle led to speculation that the pastor was brandishing a weapon.
In a Sunday service message, Adefarasin addressed the issue directly:
“This is not merely an attack; it is an organized strategy to make money through clickbait.”
He clarified that he does not own a firearm and emphasized that the narrative around the video was a distortion intended to provoke reactions and generate views.
As of the time of this publication, no law enforcement agency has released a statement regarding the incident, and there has been no official investigation launched. The church has also not revealed what object, if any, was visible in the viral footage.
The video has sparked divided reactions online. While many of Adefarasin’s followers defended him and called the video misleading, others expressed concern and demanded further clarification. The clip continues to fuel conversation around media ethics, misinformation, and the pressures on public figures in the digital age.
