Nigerian music superstar Davido has officially withdrawn from a highly anticipated performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, where he was scheduled to appear alongside 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige on July 3, 2025.
In a statement released via Instagram on Saturday, Davido cited “major misalignments regarding the event’s execution,” specifically pointing to unresolved issues around “key elements required to uphold the integrity and quality” of his performance.
“Unfortunately, these issues remain unresolved,” Davido wrote. “As a result, I regret to inform you that I will no longer be performing… on July 3rd.”
The announcement marks a notable change for the event, which had been heavily promoted by UK-based organizers The Necto Future Group under the banner @iconicpresents. Despite what Davido described as “strong fan support and impressive ticket sales,” he emphasized the decision was based on principle, not personal or financial motivation.
“This decision is not a reflection of turnout or support; it is a matter of principle and respect for my craft, my fans, and the culture I represent,” he added.
Davido also apologized to fans who purchased tickets anticipating his appearance, reiterating his appreciation for their support and stating that the concert will still hold, but without him.
The remaining tour dates in cities including Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Canada, and the U.S. remain unaffected. Davido assured fans in London:
“I’ll see you guys soon, I promise!”
As of now, there is no public statement from The Necto Future Group regarding refunds or updates to the event lineup. Davido directed inquiries to the event promoters via official contact emails listed in the statement.
